L'avantage pris aux 24 Heures du Mans avec le succès obtenu dans la Sarthe s'est évanoui pour la Toyota TR010 Hybrid n°7 de Nyck de Vries, Kamui Kobayashi et Mike Conway au terme des 6 Heures de São Paulo, avec un zéro pointé. Malgré la pénalité en fin de course reçue par Robin Frijns, le Néerlandais et Rene Rast reviennent à hauteur au classement Pilotes avec la BMW M Hybrid V8 n°20 - BMW M Team WRT.
